Description
Falmouth Classics is an event not to be missed. A weekend of sailing and racing in the beautiful natural harbour of Falmouth - coinciding with the Sea Shanty Festival ashore - makes for a truly unique and incredible atmosphere both on and off the water. This is the first time that we have taken Tectona to Falmouth Classics and so we are really excited to see how she will fare amongst the fleet of traditional vessels!

The voyage begins in Plymouth with a cruise along the coast to Falmouth on the Thursday - the ideal opportunity for those on board to get used to sailing Tectona. Arriving in Falmouth there is an evening reception with food, drink and music to start off the weekend of festivities. On the Friday there are two races and a third race the Saturday, whilst Sunday is reserved for the amazing parade of sail. All three evenings there is entertainment ashore, with a Classics BBQ on the Saturday and prize giving on the Sunday. Monday is the sail back home to Plymouth where Tectona can really stretch her legs - a great end to a fantastic weekend.

What to expect

All voyages on board our boats are completely hands-on! Whether you are an experienced sailor or a complete beginner, the intention is that everybody onboard becomes an active crew member and works together to sail Tectona.

Accommodation

Tectona's layout is simple but effective. On going below decks, on the port side, there is a galley with electric oven and hob and a saloon table big enough for everyone to eat around together. On the starboard side is the one heads and a small cabin for our staff. Moving forward there are 8 guest bunks in a shared open plan space up forward.

Living on board Tectona is a way of getting back to basics. It is a great way to experience a traditional vessel and to get to know your crewmates well.
