Sailing Tectona is a sailing based charitable organisation operating in the South West. Become a board member and really make a difference!
Location: South West, Plymouth, Millbrook. Remote.
Roles available: Finance, Marketing, Sales, Business Management
Length of term: One to three years.
Time input: Eight meetings annually and extra support if needed.
Type of position: Voluntary role, travel expenses covered.
About Us
Sailing Tectona provides life changing sail training experiences for young people from all backgrounds as well as those recovering from mental health issues and substance misuse.
We do this using two traditional sailing vessels; Tectona (1928) and Olga (1909). Our voyages take people away from the everyday, and into a new world with positive challenges and a supportive environment.
Our voyages operate at sea beyond the horizon; an incredibly unique medium which organically grows individual’s self-efficacy - many participants find within themselves remarkable capabilities which they didn’t know they had. Our customer experience is something we are incredibly proud of.
We also have strong community links and work hard with wonderful volunteers to skilfully maintain our two vessels.
Sailing Tectona is a medium size charitable organisation based in Plymouth, comprising a registered Charity and a Community Interest Company (CIC).
About the Role
We have some exciting opportunities for people to join our friendly Board and get involved with us on the next part of our journey.
We are looking for people to help re-energise Sailing Tectona, and formulate a strong and healthy recovery from the struggles of 2020/21. Do you have something to offer? Might you have current, working knowledge in some of these areas?
