Our 2022 sailing season runs from April to September, and we are looking for volunteer Watch Leaders, 1st Mates and Skippers.
-
Watch Leader: we only require you to have some sailing experience… and a lot of enthusiasm!

1st Mate: you will need qualifications (once in position), but please contact us if you don’t currently hold any qualifications and would like to discuss training opportunities.

Skipper: we require you to hold a Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster certificate.

*All our volunteer sea staff will be required to have a DBS check (cost covered by us) before going to sea.
How do I become a volunteer sea staff member?
1. Take a look at our volunteer training schedule and frequently asked questions
2. Send your completed application form to shannon@sailingtectona.co.uk and let us know which volunteer training weekend you can attend
3. We will confirm your place on the training voyage and take payment (£30)
4. Once you have successfully completed your training voyage we will invite you to become a Sailing Tectona sea staff member (see below) and you are ready to come sailing!


Sea Staff Membership
After successfully completing your training weekend we will invite you to become a sea staff member of Sailing Tectona.
Annual sea staff membership costs £60 (£30 concessionary rate).
