As the days grow shorter and Wintery skies roll overhead, the Sailing Tectona team have been going full steam to build up momentum for the Crowdfunder campaign.
This winter in the run up to the festive season were are raising money for a new generator and electric system. These urgently-needed upgrades will see a more environmentally friendly set-up installed on Tectona with capacity for an electric oven in the near future. The system we are hoping to install is the Integral system developed by Triskel Marine, who are based in Hayle, Cornwall. They have been hugely supportive of our attempts to upgrade to a 'Greener' charging system.
Their Advanced Generator Replacement Technology means greater charging capacity from the current diesel engine. It's cutting edge technology and with it Triskel have just scooped the Overall Winner at the 2018 DAME Design Awards in Amsterdam so we are really excited to work with them...If we can raise the funds we will be the first Sail Training Vessel in the world to run it!
